Charitable works: FamilyFarms Group in the community
Giving back through FamilyFarms Charities
FamilyFarms Charities is the charitable arm of FamilyFarms Group.
Committed to our mission of applying our collective farming expertise to supply food for the hungry, help farm families in need, and provide ag-related tools and training to help families and communities achieve self-sufficiency, we support worthy causes around the globe.
Our charitable projects include
- Food bank support and volunteerism
- Disaster relief efforts in U.S. and Canada
- 4-H clubs
- Scholarships for students pursuing an ag-related field
- Banana orchards and irrigation projects in Kenya
- Vegetable garden at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis
- Garden at an AIDS orphanage in South Africa
Funds are made available through various fundraising activities such as auctions, trivia night, 5K walks, and gifts from generous donors including FamilyFarms Group members, staff, and others sharing our passion for giving back.
Our volunteers also participate in service projects including serving breakfast at a homeless shelter, sorting and packing foods at a food bank, traveling to South Africa to construct netting to protect the garden of the AIDS orphanage, working with teachers and kids at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center to plant and harvest a garden, and preparing disaster relief kits for tornado victims.
We believe in changing our world, one life at a time. We have seen how impacting one life can bring encouragement and hope to a family and, through that family, to an entire community.
